POWER IN KNOWING THE LORD

Today's devotion is from Psalm 91:14-15 (AMP)

“Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him; I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never]. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.”

There is power in knowing the Lord…

2 Peter 1:3 says that His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him Who called us by glory and virtue. Not just head knowledge but a true relationship with Jesus will bring blessing, breakthrough and will result in a wonderful life.

Psalm 91:14-15 says that a believer who knows Jesus and has a real relationship with Him will be securely set on high, never abandoned, will enjoy answered prayer, will have the Lord by their side in trouble, will be rescued from calamity and will be honored, vindicated and made to prosper.

Not just saved but honored…

Psalm 91:14 says that, “I will rescue him and honor him.” The Hebrew word for honor literally means to be glorified, made weighty, to be increased, prospered, blessed… to be vindicated and to be celebrated, given recognition and honored.

When the Lord gets involved He starts by saving you, but He is not done until you have been honored and set securely on high.

I believe that it takes more humility to receive honor than it does to be rescued, but I know that we need to receive both the rescue and the honor. No, not a self-righteous prideful honor, but an honor that brings glory to Jesus Who is able to turn a castaway into a King by His grace, mercy and power.
