Today's devotion is from Romans 12:2
'And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.'
A renewed mind is the key to receiving God’s best…
The renewing of our minds brings about transformation [metamorphosis] and as we are transformed into His image… as transformed believers under the New Covenant of grace we have divine ability to know the will of God and walk in it.
The unrenewed mind of the flesh cannot receive from the Lord…
The things of the Lord are foolishness to the mind of the flesh. The mind of the flesh is skeptical and does not have faith… it cannot discern right from wrong and it cannot discern or understand the will of God, therefore it rejects truth and falls pray to continual deception and therefore it cannot receive promised blessings from the Lord.
A transformed believer receives God’s best and walks in it…
The Bible says that a transformed believer with a renewed mind ‘proves’ the will of God.
The Greek word for ‘prove’ literally means to scrutinize and discern correctly… it also means to provide evidence of something. A transformed believer with a renewed mind is able to correctly discern the will of God and walk in it. He or she literally demonstrates the will of God and proves His will, providing evidence that God is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
As you meditate upon God’s living Word today, ask the Lord to renew your mind and to transform you into His image. It is time to know the will of God, receive your inheritance, and walk in God’s best!
