Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Colossians 2:8 (TPT)

Beware that no one distracts you or intimidates you in their attempt to lead you away from Christ’s fullness by pretending to be full of wisdom when they’re filled with endless arguments of human logic. For they operate with humanistic and clouded judgments based on the mindset of this world system, and not the anointed truths of the Anointed One.

There is a mindset of this world system, and then there is a victory mindset made up of anointed truths of the Anointed One.

Human logic often flies in the face of the mind of Christ, the enemy uses worldly logic and a worldly, circumstance-based mindset to distract you, or intimidate you in an attempt to lead you away from Christ’s fullness by pretending to be full of wisdom. A victory mindset casts down these arguments and makes every thought come in alignment with Jesus and His New Covenant Word.

Philippians 2:5 (The Voice) says, “Adopt the mind-set of Jesus the Anointed. Live with His attitude in your hearts.”

The Greek word translated as ‘mind-set’ is ‘phronéō’, literally meaning, ‘To set your thinking in agreement with, having the same mindset, to agree with another’s views, to judge things in the same way as another’… in other words, setting your thinking in agreement with Jesus and His Word, sharing the same mindset as Jesus, and judging things as Jesus would!

Here is another way of translating Philippians 2:5, “Adopt the same mindset as Jesus, and come in agreement with the Word of Christ in your attitude, your judgment, your views and in your thoughts.”

A VICTORY MINDSET IS THE MIND OF CHRIST; A VICTORY MINDSET IS A MIND RENEWED AND CONFORMED TO THE WORD.

THERE ARE TWO LEVELS OF TRUTH…

The two levels of truth are worldly, circumstance-based truth and Word-based truth.

Worldly, circumstance-based truth limits you to your natural ability, natural logic, the doctor’s report and the circumstantial realities that surround you. Worldly, circumstance-based truth has to come to grips with the doctor’s report, financial limitations, the economy as well as other calamities that this world is subject to.

Word-based truth is the highest level of truth… it comes directly from God, and is ultimate truth! Word-based truth is not limited to circumstances, or subject to the limitations that worldly, circumstance-based truth is subject to. A victory mindset knows that you can do all things through Christ, it knows that God is working all things together for the good, all of the time, and it knows that with God, all things are possible through the supernatural power and ability of the Lord!

JOSHUA AND CALEB

After Joshua and Caleb and the other spies had spied out their promised land, Joshua and Caleb had a different report than the other spies. Joshua and Caleb were operating on victory mindset power while the others where operating on the lower level of worldly circumstance-based truth… they said, “We saw the giants in the land, and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” (Numbers 13:33) But Joshua and Caleb said, “Do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.” (Numbers 14:6,9)

The other spies as well as the rest of Israel had a ‘grasshopper’, slave mindset, while Joshua and Caleb enjoyed a victory mindset based upon the Word given to them by the Lord.

The mindset of Israel blocked them from receiving their promised inheritance, while the victory mindset of Joshua and Caleb secured their inheritance, and several years later, they crossed over Jordan with their families and laid hold of their promise, while the others all died in the wilderness.

HOW DO YOU CONSIDER THINGS?

ACCORDING TO THE WORD, OR ACCORDING TO CIRCUMSTANCES?

James 1:2 (NLT) says, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, CONSIDER IT an opportunity for great joy.”

JAMES ‘CONSIDERED’ THINGS, PROCESSED THINGS, AND, THOUGHT THINGS THROUGH IN THE LIGHT OF THE WORD…

When you read James chapter one, these are the conclusions he came to after considering his hardship in the light of the Word with a victory mindset…

“I need to be single-minded and in faith and not allow doubt.”

“God does not put bad things on people, only good and perfect gifts come from God”

“I need to draw from the Word that is planted in my heart to prosper in this situation”

“Now is not the time to forget the Word, but to hear it, focus on it, and do it.”

Considering hardship and trials in the light of the Word caused James to see every trial and all hardship as an opportunity for joy!

WHAT DOES THE WORD SAY ABOUT YOUR SITUATION?

“God did not cause hardship, or sickness, but right now, in spite of your circumstances, He is working all things together for your good”

“Jesus always leads me in triumph, so this test is a testimony in the making”

“By the Word of God, I am healed, I am provided for, I am more than a conqueror, and I have the victory!”

THE STRATEGY OF THE DEVIL IS TO ATTACK YOU THROUGH ‘SUGGESTIVE THOUGHTS’, AND THEN GET YOU TO SEAL HIS DECEPTIVE THOUGHTS WITH YOUR WORDS.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (Greek to English translation) - We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We capture rebellious thoughts, and make them obey [the Word of] Christ.

A VICTORY MINDSET IS AN EAGLE MINDSET…

(THE WIND IS THERE TO LIFT ME FOR ME TO FLY)

A DEFEATED MINDSET IS A TUMBLEWEED MINDSET…

(THE WIND IS THERE TO TOSS ME ABOUT AND TO THROW ME IN FRONT OF A 18-WHEELER TRUCK, WHERE I WILL GET RUN OVER AND CRUSHED)

Philippians 4:8 (AMP) - Finally, [believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s Word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

CONFESSION

“I put on the mindset of Christ, I align my thinking to the Word of God!

When I consider things, I consider them according to the Word.

I take my thinking captive, and I make my thoughts come into agreement with what the Word says.

I put on a victory mindset of power, in Jesus Name!”

In His amazing love, Nick
