Today’s New Covenant nugget is from Ephesians 6:14
Having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth.
The belt of truth…
One of the devil’s greatest weapons is deception – he deceives through lying symptoms, illegal interference and so call factual circumstances. Let me give you an example, the enemy may illegally block your cash flow, and then tell you that the Lord is not pleased with what you are doing… he may cause a lying symptom of heart pain together with numbness in your arm, and then tell you that you are about to have a heart attack… TRUTH overrides financial shortfalls, health issues as well as every symptom indicating defeat. The powers of darkness want you to believe that circumstance is king… if you buy their lie, instead of putting on the belt of truth you will be subject to their deception.
We have to be fully persuaded that TRUTH according to the New Covenant overrides every fact, every circumstance and every other so called reality. You can be in a dessert, and if the Lord led you there, He will override whatever He needs to override to provide food, water and everything that you need. God is above circumstantial facts and the TRUTH in His Word is absolute, regardless of anything that you may be facing.
The armor of God represents our stance of faith in the finished work of Jesus...
We put on the belt of truth through faith by exalting the TRUTH of the Word in the New Covenant above all else… the Doctor may give medical facts, but we exalt the truth of the Word that, by the stripes of Jesus we have been healed above medical facts. The truth of the Word is our reality, not circumstantial facts. By placing the truth of the Word above circumstances, emotions, or even circumstantial, financial and medical facts, the devil cannot get to us through outward, or even inward spiritual challenges. The belt of truth is to be worn day and night, 24/7.
Keep reminding yourself of the TRUTH of the Word, that truth will wrap around you like a belt and protect you… ‘Christ in me, the hope of glory, I can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens me, when I am weak, then I am strong in the strength of the Lord, the Father always causes me to triumph in Christ, all things are working together for my good right now, I am living in a covenant with the Creator of the universe and everything that He has belongs to me!’
Allow yourself to be wrapped in TRUTH at all times. New Covenant truth in Christ carries an anointing that not only protects you, it propels you forward into receiving the manifestation of every promise of the Father by faith, through grace.
Ephesians 6:12-18 (NIV) - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
