Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (The Voice)
The weapons of the war we’re fighting are not of this world but are powered by God and effective at tearing down the strongholds erected against His truth. We are demolishing arguments and ideas, every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One.”
There is a war that is being waged, it is a war against the devil and the spirits of darkness. The battleground of this war is your mind; there is an all-out assault, aimed at your thoughts, your attitude and your emotions.
The devil is under our feet as believers and he cannot harm us, or do anything to us because we are totally protected in Jesus… all he has is the power of suggestion, temptation, lies and deception… these are his weapons, and they are all aimed at your mind.
If the devil and the powers of darkness can get you to embrace their lies, their fear, their unbelief, their deception, or their temptations, they can get you as a believer to destroy and to defeat yourself. They cannot harm us, so their only winning strategy is to get us to harm and destroy ourselves, while they gather around in unholy huddles and laugh at our self-inflicted pain.
As believers, the Lord has given us several weapons, but in contest, this passage of scripture gives us two weapons, built into one, to enforce and to maintain a victorious-mindset. In the New King James Bible, it says, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for PULLING DOWN strongholds, CASTING DOWN arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST.”
Within the word ‘Christ’, we find two of the most powerful weapons when it comes to enforcing and maintaining a victorious-mindset! Christ (the anointed One and His anointing) refers to Jesus, His anointing, and His anointed Word. Jesus is called the ‘Word of God’ in John chapter 1, and ‘The Christ’ in Matthew 16:6 and other places. The Word of God is also called the sword of the Spirit, and ‘The Christ’ refers to the anointing of Jesus, so we have two weapons, built into one… the sword of the Spirit, which is ‘THE WORD’, and THE ANOINTING of Jesus.
The Word, together with the anointing have the power to enforce and to maintain a victory-mindset! The Word and the anointing will ‘pull down’ and destroy strongholds, the Word and the anointing will ‘cast down’ and cast out lying arguments, and the Word, together with the anointing will ‘take captive’ every deceptive thought!
An anointed mind, filled with the Word of God is protected, fortified and victorious! An anointed mind, filled with the Word is overflowing with wisdom, life giving ideas, winning strategies and supernatural ability to discern the will of God… it is filled with faith and powered by love and grace, and it sees everything as God sees it.
Keep your mind full of the anointing and full to overflowing with the Word. Continually seek out the anointing as well as life giving, anointed teachings from the Word, eat the Word, and dip it into the anointing like a cookie dipped into milk. Win in the area of your thoughts, your emotions and your attitude, and you will win in every other area of life!
