Today’s New Covenant nugget is from 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 (TPT)
God always makes His grace visible in Christ, Who includes us as partners of His endless triumph. Through our yielded lives He spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go. We have become the unmistakable aroma of the victory of the Anointed One to God—a perfume of life to those being saved and the odor of death to those who are perishing.
Through our yielded lives He spreads and defuses the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go. Did you know that the anointing flowing through the lives of believers like you and I have a smell? We have become the unmistakable aroma of the victory of the Anointed One!
What do we smell like? We smell like a perfume of life to those being saved and the odor of death to those who are perishing. Have you ever noticed that people are either drawn to you or repulsed by you? When those who are being drawn into the kingdom, who are yielding to the Holy Spirit smell you, they smell the perfume of life – but when the ones who are resisting the Holy Spirit smell you, they are repulsed and only spell decay and death. Those rejecting the grace of God smell a deadly stench that leads to death, but those who yield to the Holy Spirit and the grace of God smell the life-giving aroma that leads to abundant life.
Pray for those who are repulsed by you, but pursue those who are drawn to you. You will not be successful in leading a person to the Lord who is in resistance mode… pray for them and bind blindness, hurt, deception, rebellion and every work of the devil over their lives… then wait for them to smell the perfume – once they smell it you will become irresistible and you will be able to lead them to Christ.
Do not be offended when people that you do not even know pull a face like they just smelled something bad when they get around you – and do not be surprised when others are drawn to you like they just smelled something wonderful… it is the smell of the anointing on your life!
