Today’s devotion is from John 20:29

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Faith is when you do not see something with your natural eyes and yet you still believe because of your trust in the Word…

Many times, all we have is the Word… times when there is no circumstantial evidence and times where there is no logical reason to believe. Sometimes the Lord will allow you to see the end result with your spiritual eyes, but there are times when you simply do not see anything to substantiate what you are hoping and believing for… times where the only things that you seem to be surrounded with are things that contradict the Word. Those who believe the written Word and those who believe the things that God has spoken into their hearts regardless of circumstances have a special blessing coming to them.

Every believer is surrounded by promises that have not yet manifested, things that have been prophesied that have not yet come to pass, things that the Lord has spoken into their spirit that have not manifested and New Covenant blessings in the Word that have not yet materialized. Every believer has an opportunity to doubt every single day, but every believer also has an opportunity to have faith and to believe, even though they have not yet seen.

Jesus gave His Word that He would die, be buried and that He would be raised from the dead on the third day, and yet that was not enough for Thomas… he had to see it before he would believe it. Jesus wanted him to believe it because He said it. It is so very important to the Lord that we believe Him and His word and that we live by faith that He attaches a special blessing to that!

Be among those who believe because He said it and you will be among those who will see it, experience it and walk in it, in Jesus Name!
