Today's devotion is from Deuteronomy 8:18
“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
The Lord had a covenant of wealth with Israel.
The Lord made a covenant of increase and wealth to Abraham and his descendants. (Genesis 17:2-8) In Deuteronomy 8:18 the Lord reminded the children of Israel that the blessing and the wealth that they were enjoying was because of God’s covenant toward them.
The covenant of wealth is a covenant of power!
Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “It is He who gives you power to get wealth.”
The Lord gives his covenant children an anointing for wealth, not just a little favor to barley get by… POWER and anointing for WEALTH.
The Bible says that Abraham was VERY rich. The Lord DELIGHTS in the PROSPERITY of His servants and He wants to see you abundantly blessed so that you can enjoy your life as well as be a blessing to others!
Deuteronomy 8:18 was a covenant of wealth for Israel under the Abrahamic covenant as well as under the Old Covenant [The Law,] but what about under the New Covenant of GRACE?
I’m so glad that you asked…
Firstly the Greek word for salvation is ‘sozo’ and literally means ‘salvation, divine health and healing, deliverance, protection and PROSPERITY.’ One of the reasons that Jesus died on the cross was to establish a covenant of wealth for you and I.
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 8:9, ‘For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. The Amplified Bible says, ‘[Though He was [so very] rich, yet for your sakes He became [so very] poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched (abundantly supplied)’
The New Covenant of GRACE includes a Covenant of WEALTH toward EVERY born again believer.
Jesus left the unsearchable riches in Heaven and died alone, stripped of everything on a rugged cross for you and I and the LIVING, powerful Word says that Though He was so very rich, yet for your sakes He became so very poor, in order that by His poverty you might become enriched and abundantly supplied. He gave up EVERYTHING so that we could enjoy EVERYTHING.
Jesus established a wealth covenant for us by the shedding of His own blood.
We always associate the price that Jesus paid with forgiveness of sins and healing, but WEALTH is as much a part of the covenant as all of the other blessings.
It pleases the Lord when we exercise our faith to receive what He has given us at so great a price!
Jesus is NOT blessed when His children go around sick, depressed, defeated, stressed and in lack and poverty… Jesus wants us healthy, happy, blessed and wealthy and he paid the ultimate price for us to experience exactly that!
Receive His GRACE today and enter into your wealth covenant, in Jesus Name!
