Today’s word is from Ephesians 6:13-14
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore…
Having done all to stand, STAND!
Family, we have to do whatever it takes to know what we believe, and then to stand firm and not compromise. We live in a world that has become grey, but the Word of God is “black and white.”
The Word of God is clear when it comes to values, principles and practices and we as believers have to stand for what is right, we have to stand for a Biblical lifestyle and Biblical stewardship.
But Nick, everybody does it!
I know that the world is full of compromise, the world we live in believes that rules are meant to be broken… People today believe that ‘as long as they don’t catch you, it’s ok.’
Just because everybody does something does not make it right.
I am not going to go down a list of compromising, sinful actions, but I will say this, sin and compromise have consequences, and they are not good! Jesus gave His life to free us from the bondage of living a compromised, sinful life… He gave His life, then He gave each believer the grace, the power and the will to live a Holy life without compromise.
Love the sinner, but hate sin!
We need to love everybody and reach out to everybody regardless of their lifestyle, and God knows that no person needs to be judged or condemned but that does not mean that we need to embrace the deception that they are walking in. The church does not need to be some kind of self-righteous bigoted judgmental society, we need to do whatever we can to preach the message of grace and love, get them saved, and then let the Lord change them from glory to glory into His image.
This blindness and these unscriptural values, views and principles have crept their way into many modern day churches, and in an effort to grow, be popular and to be embraced by their communities, many churches do not take a stand on anything anymore! I tell my church that anyone is welcome to come “as they are,” but thank God, in Christ, nobody stays as they are.
Everything has to change in Christ!
We become new creatures in Christ the moment that we get born again and old things need to pass away, and ALL things need to become new.
A new way to be married, a new way to have relationships, a new way to raise our children, a new way of thinking, leading, motivating, talking and walking. You may have been a drug addict or a pervert or a liar, a thief, a drunkard, a con artist, a free thinker, a nudist, a homosexual, a bisexual, a transsexual, or a lust consumed heterosexual in your old nature before you got saved, but as a born again believer you should not identify with any part of who or what the old man used to be. Everything is new and everything has to change!
God desires to transform every Christian into His image!
In our New Covenant of grace and love, in our New Covenant of being made accepted in the beloved, as we draw near to the Lord, as we renew our minds by the Word of God, we become transformed from glory to glory into His image. We discover a totally different way of thinking and doing… New values, new principles, new views and a new desire that craves life and holiness.
Who wants to stay the same anyway?
Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
