Today's word is from Romans 2:4 (AMP)
Are you [so blind as to] trifle with and presume upon and despise and underestimate the wealth of His kindness and forbearance and long-suffering patience?
Are you unmindful or actually ignorant [of the fact] that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repent (to change your mind and inner man to accept God’s will)?
God’s kindness is what leads us to repentance, not a threat of His wrath!
As we are exposed and our minds are enlightened to the wealth of His love, His grace, kindness, forbearance and long-suffering patience, it changes the way we see God, it changes the way we perceive everything, and that leads us to a different perspective in life [repentance]
Again, for those that have not read the previous teachings on New Covenant repentance, the New Testament Greek words for repentance are 'metä-noe'ō' and “metä'-noiä,’ meaning, to change one’s mind.
Without a revelation of God’s love for us Christianity will either become a dead religion steeped in legalism or it will become a dead faithless pacifistic philosophy.
If we attempt to practice our faith without an encounter with the Lord and an exposure to His essence, the words of the Bible will be nothing more than empty stories of outdated religious practices.
God’s love, grace, goodness and kindness, imparted through a real relationship with Him through Jesus is a prerequisite to any Biblical lifestyle.
We will never understand grace, righteousness, justification, faith or repentance until we have a revelation of His love for us. Receiving His love must precede any attempt to understand Biblical truth, the New Covenant, or correct doctrine.
Father, show me the wealth of Your kindness, forbearance and long-suffering patience?
Lead me to be mindful and aware of Your immense goodness.
Renew my mind and transform my life by Your loving-kindness, in Jesus Name!
